Many PSP enthusiasts and Sony Fanboys have already dreamed of having a playstation-based phone (or the other way) around, one that can take the constant abuse of avid gaming for titles like Crisis Core (especially if you have the Crisis Core Materia Fusion Guide Handy). The addition of Skype onto our beloved portable console has given us a taste of what it’ll be like to have our console act like our phones and with Sony Ericsson’s lastest product, I’m thinking that they’re on their way to turn that idea around (turn our phones into consoles).
Meet the Sony Ericsson F305. It’s the company’s first official foray into the Motion Gaming-enabled phone (similar to the N-Gage but hopefully it won’t end up like it) that’s a quad-band GSM phone with support for EDGE network speeds.

It was just day 1 and Toy Con was already jampacked with cosplay fanatics, toy lovers, frequent event goers and people who bit into the plug by Sir Mike Enriquez last friday. A big kudos to the marketing department for that. Toy Con was so packed I couldn’t move around to look for cosplayers AND the toys I wanted to buy (as if I had the money for them
)
Although the event used 2 Megatrade Halls, I can’t help but wishing they had 3.
Overall though, I think I can sum up the event aftermath from several point of views, starting with the avid cosplay fanatic, the toy lover/collector and the frequent or the newbie event goer.
To those who haven’t gone to Day 1, here’s a shout out for one of the biggest events in the country.
What: The 7th Philippine Toys, Hobbies and Collectibles Convention 2008
When: June 14-15, 2008, Saturday- Sunday
Where: Megatrade Hall 2-3, SM Megamall
Mandaluyong City, Philippines

There’s always something about cosplays that draws me to it. From sexy costumes to amazing feats of creativity and engineering (yeah, it’s not just about the pretty girls), cosplay has gone from a fad that’s just for geeks and otakus to every one who loves to don a costume or simply standout.
Hey, there’s even children’s costumes too. Here’s a quick sample.

Cute right?

The Deep Red Sony PSP was a real delight (I was actually looking forward to replacing my Ice Silver PSP for it but oh well) and now, Sony is set to release a new color for the PSP, Metallic Blue via two Sony PSP packs
- PSP Metallic Blue Value Pack
A new Metallic Blue PSP, pouch, hand strap, cloth, a 32MB Memory Stick Duo, as well as a D Terminal AV Cable.
- PSP Metallic Blue 1 Seg Pack
A Metallic Blue PSP with a widely popular 1 Seg tuner, a pouch in the same blue color that can store the PSP system with the tuner attached, a stand to place the PSP system for TV viewing, strap, cloth, and a 1GB Memory Stick PRO Duo.

I’d like to apologize for the very late post (to anyone still reading cosplay related entries on my blog that is), I had been busy with quite a lot of things In Real Life so I had to give blogging a break to focus more on that. Anyway, I think I’ve gotten my problems fixed so here goes the Aftermath Post for Mangaholix.
I was looking quite forward to Mangaholix for quite awhile since it’s one of the better known anime events which meant that who’s who in the Philippine Cosplay scene was going to be there (Alodia was there for those wondering) and there was a lot of people to snap pictures of with my new camera (a Nikon D40, I’m a real newb to digital photography but I’ve done film). Suffice to say, I was right to trim my expectations to a few items before the event itself:
- I’ll be spending more time with Ichiraku members than shooting pictures
- I’ll be shooting more photos of Ichiraku members than cosplayers
- I’ll probably be getting shots at the beginning of the convention AND towards the end
- I’ll probably spend more on food than anime merchandise

If you’re reading this post then it’s just 10 days to the 7th Philippine Toys, Hobbies and Collectibles Convention 2008, which is still one of the biggest anime/enthusiast event in the country. Known as just Toy Con to most, the convention is an ode to anime lovers, toy lovers, model kit hobbyists, comic book lovers, collectors and anyone who loves pretty girls (yeah you know you do). If you’re wondering what Toy con has in stored for you, here’s a cosplayer (Jac Ting Lim) from last year’s convention.
The picture is after the jump.
But just in case you forgot what event I’m talking about:
