Yep folks.  Dark Alex skipped 4.02 and released 5.00 M33.  Interested in the changes?  Read the PSP 5.00 Firmware changes.

Requirements:

Update 2: 5.00 M33-4 is already available. Read how to install 5.00 M33-4
Update: 5.00 M33-3 is already available.  Read how to install 5.00 M33-3

How to install 5.00 M33 CFW on your PSP:

  • Extract the 5.00 M33 installer files to your computer.
  • Copy the Update folder to X:/PSP/GAME/ on your PSP’s memory stick.
  • Download the official 500.PBP.  If the file you’ve extracted is named EBOOT.PBP change it to 500.PBP before proceeding.
  • Copy the 500.PBP to the directory; X:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE on your PSP’s memory stick.
  • Run 5.00 UPDATE from under Game on your PSP’s XMB
  • Press X if asked to correct idstorage keys
  • Continue to install the official 5.00 SONY when prompted
  • After all process is complete, press X. Your PSP will reboot.
  • Congratulations, you’ve just installed 5.00 M33

Plugins incompatible so far:

CXMB
CWCHEAT
POPSLOADER

Important Note: Dark_AleX has released a statement regarding the 0xFFFFFFFF PSOne error in 5.00 M33. According to Alex, the issue is due to the new pops supporting only PNG images in 24 bits format. PSOne conversion applications, such as PSX2PSP, save icons in 32 bit. Future M33 releases will automatically replace an icon with an invalid color depth.

To work around this issue, either use the original command line PSOne conversion tool, or select the “Old Default” icon type under options in PSX2PSP.

UPDATE 5.00 M33-2 is already available

Changes for 5.00 M33-2

  • Popcorn bug fixes
  • Fixed bug that caused some games with certain icons not to work, and caused document.dat not to work.
  • Fixed critical bug that caused continous corruption of psx games in RAM.
  • Core bugfix: Fixed sctrlKernelSetInit* functions not working.
  • M33 network update doesn’t work in 5.00 M33, fixed.
  • Added the posibility of loading version information from the file flash0:/vsh/etc/version.txt
  • By default is disabled. If you enable it in recovery, you could for example dump 5.01 firmware, copy the version.txt from it to the flash, and bypass firmware check restrictions like those that may be in psn, etc.
  • This will also fake official network update (not m33 one), and running the update eboot (again, not m33 ones).
  • Plugins configuration file format changed.  The new format is as follows:
    • There is no more conf.bin file.
    • Now each line in vsh.txt game.txt and pops.txt will have a 0 or a 1 at the end. 1 indicates
that the plugin will be loaded, 0 (or anything else) that it won’t be loaded.
    • Entering in recovery in 5.00 M33-2 will automatically convert the old format configuration
to the new one (this may cause a delay first time you enter in plugins because of conversion).

    • Added optins under advanced configuration that allow enable/disable of plugins in a certain configuration.
    • By default they are enabled.

hey y’all,i just want an answer for my question,
i have a 3.71 m33 Psp slim and i want to upgrade it to 5.00 m33,shall i just go to Network Update and update it?

Network update only works for 3.90 M33 and above. If you do use Network Update on your 3.71 m33, it will install the official firmware and you’ll loose access to free games. Update to 3.90 M33 first or go directly to 5.00 M33

naghahang ung psp q after q iupdate to 5.00 m33.. is their any risk n msira ung psp pg d2 aq ngupdate or using this site to update my psp?
