One of the things that I’m excited about the new Spirit Photography: The Possessed Notebook for the 3DS (aside from it being a new Fatal Frame game) is the use Augmented Reality feature of in-game.

The game comes with an actual Augmented Reality notebook, which you have to scan with the 3DS to play the game. It’s a bit hard to explain so just watch the video below.

I can imagine someone playing Shinrei Camera (the Japanese title of the game) and then dropping his 3DS in a fit of terror screaming NOPE! NOPE! NOPE! NOPE! NOPE!

Gameplay with the AR mode looks like it’ll actually be a good fit for the Wii U and it’s controller. Sadly, we’ll have to wait for that to get announced :(.
