Microsoft updates Xbox One with 1TB storage, new controller, and PC Adapter

Ahead of this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3 2015), Microsoft has announced an updated Xbox One model that should roll out into stores some time soon.

The new Xbox One will ship with a 1TB hard drive (double of the original capacity), a matte black finish, and a new controller that now uses a 3.5mm audio jack.  Also included in the 1TB bundle is the Halo Master Chief Collection and available starting on June 16th for $399.  The older 500 GB model will be discounted permanently to $349.

The new controller can be purchased standalone starting next month for USD59.99

Also for those of us who use Xbox controllers on our PCs, Microsoft is now offering a wireless adapter for Windows PCs, letting you use the Xbox One controllers on your PC with no cable necessary.  The adapter is just $25, or bundled with a controller for $80.  The adapter is set to arrive sometime this fall.

Lastly, Microsoft is bundling a Halo: The Master Chief Collection with the new Xbox One 1TB model for a limited time and in select regions.

The new XBOX One will be available later this month for USD399. Meanwhile, the 500GB model will now be retailed for USD349.
