Rumor: Gundam Seed Battle Destiny headed to PlayStation Vita
Fresh from the rumor mill, it seems that Vita owners and Gundam fans will have something to look forward. Artdink, the same studio behind the Mobile Suit Gundam Vs franchise on the PSP is said to be currently working on the very first Gundam game exclusively available on the Vita. Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Battle Destiny, is said to be at 70% completion and will have the following serieses under it’s belt:
- Mobile Suit Gundam Seed
- Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny
- Mobile Suit Gundam Seed C.E. 73 Stargazer
- Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Astray
- Mobile Suit Gundam Seed X Astray
- Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Vs. Astray
- Mobile Suit Gundam Seed MSV
- Destiny Gundam
- Impulse Gundam
- Strike Freedom Gundam
- Akatsuki, Aegis Gundam
- Justice Gundam
- Gundam Astray Blue Flame Second Rev.
- Gundam Astray Red Flame Rev.
According to leaked details from Famitsu, Battle Destiny makes good use of the Vita’s control scheme, mapping the camera control (a Gundam vs game with camera control???? SHUTUPANDTAKEMYMONEY) on the right analog stick and the weapon swap via the touchscreen using icons to switch to your preferred weapon/attack type. Like it’s predecessors, additional Gundams are unlocked as you play through the game. Players can use global points to purchase new items to fine tune Gundam from a shop. although it’s not indicative as to the customization applies only to missions (ala GvG Next Plus) or if it will be brought into the Arcade mode and Multiplayer mode as well.
Speaking of multiplayer, Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Battle Destiny will have ad-hoc cooperative play. No word on an online multiplayer however but we’ll get more details as soon as more info is available.
Namco Bandai is expecting the game to release in Spring.
