Sony announces PlayStation 3 pricedrop
Good news for everyone who hasn’t jumped ship onto the PS3, Sony has just dropped the price of the PlayStation 3 (the 160 GB version at least) to just $249. Elsewhere in the world that amounts to 24,980 yen in Japan and 249 Euros in Europe. The new pricing for the lowest end PlayStation 3 is now at par with the expected WiFi-only version of the PlayStation Vita.
The new pricing will take effect in August 18.
The 320 GB PS3 model will drop price to ¥29,980, $299 and 299 Euros.
Anyone looking forward to the Tales of Xillia PS3 bundle will enjoy the new pricing scheme as it releases on September 8.
