If you had 5.03 GEN-C and you’ve probably experienced having problems playing games with Sony’s new DRM which requires 6.20 OFW. Luckily, Liquidzigong created Prometheus Module so that users with 5.03 GEN-C (meaning COMPLETELY hackable PSPs) can still enjoy the latest game releases without any patching involved. With this guide, I’ll be showing you how to install the 5.03 Prometheus firmware add-on .
For ease of identification, Liquidzigong says you can also call this release as 5.03 Prometheus Add-on
Important: This guide is for non-hackable PSPs. (PSP-3000 / PSP-2000 TA-088v3). If you’re not sure what PSP you have, please read: Is my PSP hackable? If your PSP is a hackable unit, please proceed to my guide on Install PSP Custom Firmware 5.50 Prometheus.
Requirements:
- A PSP with custom firmware 5.03 GEN-C installed. If your firmware version is below this, please update to 5.03 GEN-C.
- PSP battery that’s at least 78% full
- Download: 5.03_Prometheus.zip
- Disable ALL plugins.
- Back up your save files (so that if they get corrupted, you still have backups)
How to install 5.03 Prometheus add-on
- Connect your PSP to your computer
- Extract the 5.03_Prometheus.zip to your PC
- Copy the 5.03_Prometheus folder to X:/PSP/GAME/ on your PSP’s memory stick. (Where X is the drive that your PC recognizes your memory stick)
- On your XMB, go to Game > Memory Stick, hold the L trigger and press X to start 5.03 Prometheus Updater
- Continue to install the official 5.03 Prometheus CFW when prompted
- After all process is complete, press X again. Your PSP revert to the XMB screen.
- Congratulations, you’ve just installed 5.03 Prometheus add on on your 5.03 GEN-C.
Important: This release is currently 5.03 Prometheus v4. Stay updated by subscribing to our feeds.
After installing 5.03 Prometheus, How about some Free PSP Games?
Troubleshooting
In case of problems you can go back to 5.03 GEN-C by simply running ChickHen R2 then 5.03 GEN-C again.

if i have this installed, can i play Prince of Persia the Forgotten Sand?..coz you know, the game could not be started when i tried to play the game..5.03 Prometheus is already installed on my PSP 3000 that has previously installed 5.03 Gen C
Yes it will work but you need to play a non-patched version of the game.

I have Prometheus 5.50 and can’t play the new Prince of Persia title. Do I need the non-patched version as well? How can you tell if it’s the non-patched version? And is there a fix so I can get on the PSN? I want to be able to use remote play but can only do it on my own network since PSN won’t allow me to log in.
Non-patched versions are usually named untouched or unpatched when you download them.

Also for PSN, there’s several plugins out there that allow you to do just that.
Oh ok thank you. I did manage to find a kbbhs plug in that came WITH a Prince of Persia Forgotten Sands torrent, installed the patch and it works just fine now. I’ve actually never seen a title labeled as “untouched” or “unpatched”, now I’ll know if I ever do! lol. Also, I had problems with 3 Lego Harry Potter torrents tho…they wouldn’t show up on the memory stick after install. Is it a problem with ME or were they “fake” as stated by people in the comments? I did manage to find a working title tho finally. I’m headed on to try to find a PSN plugin now..any suggestions? Could you post a link by chance? I may be able to find one but just in case….

Hmmmm…..the torrent comes up as “Unable to load “easy_patch-3.rar”Invalid torrent file”
I do have a working patch tho….unless this one was a newer version.
hi. one question, you mentioned above to just press X to reboot the psp but on the screen there are 3 choices to press aside from X, what is the purpose of the other choices? thanks
Oops my bad, the PSP won’t reboot. Just revert to the XMB.
As for the other choices, they are either to uninstall the prometheus add-on or to exit the installer.
I didint press the L when i started installing prometheus i just press X then it reboot. i went to system when i saw 5.03 prometheus, does this mean i successfully installed it even i didnt press L? when i tried to play price of persia, it didn’t start. what could be the problem? thanks.
Just like with other 5.03 cfw, pressing L only overwrites the files already there.
As for why PoP didn’t play, you probably have a patched/fixed version. Try looking for an unpatched or unfixed ISO version.
