The Nintendo DSi has a region lock, which, much to the chagrin of fans, casual gamers and importers, will prevent them from enjoying DS games not meant for their region.  Some of my DS-fans friends gave a collective sigh when the region locked news broke out as quite a number of them were fans of anime-themed games.  They’ll be sticking to their good old Nintendo DS and Nintendo DS Lite.  If you’ve jumped on the DSi bandwagon, then you’re probably looking for some free Nintendo DSi games.

So what does the region lock do?

Simple.  If you’ve bought a US-released DSi and tried to play a Japanese-released DSi game then you won’t be able to play it.  This region lock applies to DSi-only games however, whose number is still at zero.  It’s not a wonder people are already looking for free Nintendo DSi games or at least region unlocked versions of games for Nintendo DSi.

Where can you download free DSi games?  Nowhere as of the moment since there’s no need for them.  The R4i works wonders for the DSi already, until Nintendo patches it away that is.  So again, if you’re looking for  a place to download free Nintendo DSi games that are not locked in any regions then stay tuned and subscribe to my rss feeds or subscribe your email via the form below:

When you buy a R4i card it will also email you a link to click on to install a small software onto the mirco card. When you do this it works. I have a 2gb micro card with 40 games that I downloaded and the card only cost me £20 so saving loads of money :-)
