It’s been awhile since I talked about movies, not since I’ve been tongue tied after seeing Dark Knight.  Yes I was supposed to make a review of the movie but for some reason couldn’t.   It was simply the best one I saw in years.  Ok now back to topic.

The Resident Evil has spawned 3 movies, each branching out further and further from the game mythos with each successive film (Thanks Hollywood).  Resident Evil Degeneration, the upcoming CGI movie, is set within the same universe as the games, specifically after Resident Evil 2 and Racoon City (mind you not the events in the movie, get Milla Jovovich out of your head for now).  The story is well, just watch the first 8 minutes of the movie.

The movie pays much needed homage to the the series’ story, more so than the Hollywood-ized ones we’ve been seeing. Compared to RE 5 though, the CGI of Degeneration kinda looks like something from the PS2 doesn’t it?  In all, I’m hoping it’ll be a movie worth the Resident Evil name.

Resident Evil: Degeneration will be out on DVD and Blu Ray (Japanese) on December 17 while the english movie will reach theaters in December 30, probably 2 weeks into the New Year for us Filipinos due to the MFF (Manila Film Festival).
