3DS sold out on Japan launch

It’s hard not to give props to Nintendo for the successful launch of the 3DS in Japan. Yep, Nintendo managed to sell out it’s existing 3DS stock, all 400,000 of them in just 24 hours. Do note that this number does include those who have pre-ordered their brand new console, but it’s still an impressive feat nonetheless.

If you’re thinking of getting a 3DS at the U.S. (or E.U.), you’ll have the following games available for your new console: Nintendogs + cats, Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask, Combat of Giants Dinosaur 3D, Ridge Racer 3D, Samurai Warriors Chronicle, Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition, Winning Eleven 3D and Puzzle Bobble 3D (view the full list here).

Is the 3DS worth it? Check out the hardware specs here. Of course, seeing as the Nintendo managed to sell every 3DS unit available within a 24 hour time span, that’s saying something.

I bet Sony wants to have the same launch day success 🙂 How about you guys? Are you contemplating on getting a 3DS as soon as it’s out or are you waiting for “that” game to push you to an impulse purchase. Let us know in the comments.
