First let me say i love this site XD. I tried upgrading my psp to 6.35 ofw n this is what comes up “The software of your PSP system is version 9.90. There is no need to update”
( I dont relli know much (hmnn mabye anything) about this type of stuff but 9.90 sounds a bit high so i went in the system settings n it says the systtem software is 5.50 prometheus. so can u help a dude out ?

    • sylv3rblade June 18, 2011 Reply

Follow the instructions on this page: Install 5.50 GEN-D3 but instead selecting “Flash install CFW 5.50 GEN-D3“, choose “Flash install 5.50 OFW”. It will revert you to the 5.50 OFW and by then you can start upgrading to 6.35 OFW.

    PSP-1000; Version 6.20 pro-b6

Did you extract it properly? Also, remember to turn off your PSP before installing. You need to be on OFW or you’ll brick your PSP.

        Thx bro^ ^ I already solve my problem…
Now my PSP vers. is 6.35 PRO B6…;)

6.35 ofw for my psp 2000 and when i extracted it my psp cannot read the updater it says corrupted file -_-

    • sylv3rblade August 29, 2011 Reply

      You’re already on 6.35 OFW?

In any case, the updater will say that if:
1.) You have put the eboot.pbp file in the wrong directory
2.) The file is actually corrupted.

Technically you haven’t downgraded since you’ve just installed 6.60 PRO-B9. To downgrade you need to go through the downgrade process detailed in this guide

if we’re upgrading our PSP from the OFW to CFW, is it okay to leave the UMD inside? or I must take it out first before doing it?

First of all, I have 6.31 OFW. I was able to use Prometheus Iso Loader with HEN but it won’t boot Monster Hunter Portable 3rd. I saw somewere I need 6.35 but will my save files still work for my other games? I don’t want to install 6.35 if it breaks my saves.

    • EliteAxe October 4, 2011 Reply

Well I tried anyway and my saves work. I even was able to make Monster Hunter work! Thanks for all the tutorials on this website.

do you need to format your memory stick?

    • sylv3rblade February 16, 2012 Reply

      Nope

      • Kenshin February 17, 2012 Reply

when you upgrade your psp does it need to be fully charged?

        • sylv3rblade February 17, 2012

Not really but it’s recommended to charge to at least 75% when upgrading your firmware. That way if anything happens you won’t brick your PSP by having the battery discharge during the process.

        • Kenshin February 18, 2012

  17. BlazeGX March 28, 2012 Reply

Sir! I’m actually afraid to upgrade my psp! I have 5.03 prometheus-4. How long will it take to upgrade and can I?

    • sylv3rblade March 28, 2012 Reply

The upgrade, if you wish to push through, should take longer than 5 minutes of installation (upgrading to 6.35 then installing the latest pro build)

  18. Seishirou June 28, 2012 Reply

I have psp 3002 with 5.03 prometheus FW, i forgot the rest of system details, and i didn’t bring my psp, so 🙂

Ive read few forums and they said if my psp should safely updated by semi permanent CFW, and they recommend 6.35 pro or 6.39 pro… WHen i tried to update it, i couldnt found the OFW of it..Your link is blocked btw..could you tell me where to get OFW of 6.35 or 6.39??? 🙂

  19. modder January 21, 2013 Reply

PUT THE DAMN FILE BACK ON. OR LITERALLY REMOVE THE WEBPAGE, AS THIS LEADS TO DEAD ENDS.

    • sylv3rblade January 21, 2013 Reply

I’m not sure why the 6.35 files we’re deleted but the other versions are still up.

In anycase, I’ve reuploaded them to mediafire.
