Sony unveils PlayStation Vita EU launch line up

With the PlayStation Vita‘s February 22, 2012 launch closing, Sony has finally announced the titles that’ll launch with the new console.

As expected, the line-up leaves a lot to be desired, reminiscent of the lackluster Nintendo 3DS launch line-up. The countries for the EU launch are listed as follows: AE, AU, GB, IE, NZ. Below are the games set to release alongside the PlayStation Vita:

Uncharted: Golden Abyss
WipEout 2048
Reality Fighters
Little Deviants
ModNation Racers: Road Trip
Everybody’s Golf
Escape Plan
Gravity Rush
Hustle Kings
MotorStorm RC
Top Darts
Super StarDust Delta

Personally the only thing I’m interested in for the line up is Uncharted and WipEout, the rest is pretty much meh. No launch Vita for me.

If you’re disappointed, Sony’s Senior Vice President of Worldwide Studios Europe Michael Denny gave a laundry list of PlayStation Vita games that are currently in development. These titles will come out a bit later in the console’s lifetime so if you are waiting for one of these titles to make you buy a Vita, I would suggest to be patient and wait it out.

IF you’re disappointed at the Vita’s launch line up, remember that the PlayStation Vita is backwards-compatible with existing PlayStation Portable games from the PS Store. All you need to do is buy a Vita memory card and redownload your game for the new console but make sure to take note of Sony’s new PSN activation limit. If you have a collection of UMDs and want to convert them to digital versions via the PS Store, you can register your UMDs and buy the digital copies at discounted prices via the UMD Passport Program.
